Cheers from across the pond!!

It's incredible to me that in 13 hours, doorstep to doorstep, you can be 1/4 of the way around the world.

After a very long, but uneventful flight, day 1 in England greeted us with sunshine and even a little hot weather at times.

We got to Aunt Jane's house by 9am. We refreshed ourselves, had some tea, then headed out to see the band marching up the town to the castle with the new guard. There is lots to see along the way. Everything is decorated very festively for the olympics.

First we walked past the house where all my childhood memories are. It's no longer there...

Of course we had to check out Boots (now owned by Walgreens)

On the way home we stopped by the church. St Stephens

A plaque for my grandmother and grandfather

We were exhausted, so we headed back to AJ's house for some lunch and then a 2 hour nap. Just enough to keep us going. We went back into town, along the river Thames, then back up the town to the castle and the Long Walk.

Haha! U floozy!

Bec (my cousin) was waiting for us when we got back to the house. We were able to sit in the garden for the evening. It was really nice! Aunt Jane made a delicious cottage pie for dinner.
